Rising from the Ashes

I feel the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. Lifting higher and higher, I soar like an eagle. When out of nowhere I’m hit with a fiery dart and plummet to the ground landing in a charred heap of ash.

This has been my life over the last few weeks. I’ve been flying high in my time with God only to be shot down by fear, weakness, and unexpected sin. I’m beginning to feel a little crispy!

The enemy and even my own flesh nature want me to fail. They want me to stay in the familiar. They want to keep me tethered to the ground, afraid to fly.

But God… is doing a new thing. God draws me out on the edge with Him. God lifts me up to soar in His grace. God knows the attack is coming and uses it to refine me.

Beauty from ashes.  Life from death. Glory from destruction. That’s God doing a new thing!

Believer, are you feeling a little crispy? Have you flown with God only to go down in flames? Are you still sitting in the pile of ash? God’s not punishing us, He’s making us new! After every fire in the forest, the plants grow back thicker and heartier. Like those plants, we are survivors!  We only need to stand up and trust God as we fly with Him again. Ready for take-off?

Be blessed,

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!” John 16:33

Jennifer, I believe the evil one has stepped up his attacks on Christians, especially on writers and speakers who are promoting the Name of Christ. I can't tell you how many have said similar things to what you've said, and I've felt the darts myself!

Praying right now for you. We must band together against the father of lies! He does not control us!

Amen, sister! I agree with you. It's so encouraging to stand shoulder to shoulder with such faithful women of God!
